Who I Work With

I work with adult clients of all backgrounds and identities, however have some groups of interest.

My Clients

I work with a wide range of clients with different backgrounds and identities, but am particularly drawn to supporting:

  • Adults

  • The LGBTIQASB+ community.

  • Neurodivergent individuals.

  • Men’s mental health.

  • People with trauma experiences

  • Expats, immigrants, and refugees.

  • First nations people.

  • Individuals working in criminal justice, national security, and government.

  • Minority stress, and clients navigating the intersectionality of multiple minority identities.

Adults

I work exclusively with adults, focusing on individualised care that promotes personal growth and mental health. My practice is inclusive and friendly toward clients in non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships, recognising the unique dynamics and challenges of these arrangements. While I do not currently work with children or adolescents, I am exploring the development of group programs in 2025. Potential areas include ADHD support, minority stress, and men’s disordered eating and body dysmorphia. Additionally, I may introduce relationship counselling in late 2025 to complement my work with individuals.

LGBTIQASB+

As part of the LGBTIQASB+ community, I provide affirming care tailored to diverse identities and experiences. LGBTIQASB+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer/Questioning, Asexual, Sistergirl, and Brotherboy. Sistergirl and Brotherboy are terms used by some Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to describe gender-diverse identities. While identity-based trauma and discrimination are significant issues, I also recognise that not all concerns are related to sexuality or gender identity. I support clients in navigating challenges across mental health, relationships, identity exploration, and self-acceptance. As a member of WPATH, AUSPATH, and Asia PATH, I have completed foundational and advanced transgender mental health training. I provide assessments and letters of support for clients seeking gender-affirming medical and surgical treatment (GAMST), where surgical professionals accept letters from general psychologists. My goal is to ensure clients feel supported and affirmed throughout their journey.

Neurodivergent

Many of my clients are neurodivergent, particularly those with ADHD, Autism, or AuDHD (a combination of both). I provide a neuro-affirming, "no-shame" approach, supporting clients through screening, treatment, and ongoing management across the lifespan.  I regularly provide screenings for neurodevelopmental disorders based on ADHD and Autism guidelines. I also address comorbid mental health challenges and help clients navigate their unique strengths and challenges with confidence and self-compassion.

Men's Psychology

I provide comprehensive support to men, addressing a wide range of mental health and wellbeing challenges. My work includes sexual health and intimacy issues, such as sexual dysfunction, problematic behaviours, and family violence—whether clients are impacted by or using partner violence. I also specialise in working with men experiencing disordered eating, muscle and body dysmorphia, and problematic use of pornography or dating apps. Through practical and emotional support, I aim to help men break down stigma, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and improve their overall quality of life.

Trauma Impacted

I adopt a trauma-informed approach aligned with leading guidelines, incorporating trauma-focused CBT and EMDR (Standard and EMDR 2.0). I work with individuals facing various types of trauma, including identity-based trauma, interpersonal violence, childhood abuse, systemic oppression, and complex trauma. I also provide specialised support for neurodivergent individuals with trauma, recognising their unique experiences and tailoring strategies to their needs. Registered with the National Redress Scheme, I also support clients with dissociation and trauma-related comorbidities. For victims of crime, I accept third-party funding to ensure accessible care. My aim is to empower clients in processing trauma, rebuilding their sense of safety, and moving forward with resilience.

Expats, Immigrants, Refugees

Having lived, worked, and travelled extensively overseas, and with prior professional experience in Australian immigration, I offer a unique understanding of the challenges faced by expats, immigrants, refugees, international students, and backpackers. Issues such as homesickness, cultural adjustment, language barriers, isolation, navigating systemic discrimination, and identity shifts are common, and I provide a supportive space to address these challenges. For those who relocate overseas, my practice, Global Minds Psychology, offers continuity of care through telehealth services. Some clients from eligible countries who hold Medicare cards may access rebates for mental health services. Others may use private health insurance funding, depending on their policies. I aim to ensure care is accessible and tailored to the unique circumstances of each client, providing practical and emotional support to help them thrive in new environments.

First Nations People

I am deeply committed to supporting First Nations clients through culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care. Acknowledging the intergenerational trauma and systemic inequalities faced by Indigenous communities, I strive for continuous development in understanding and enhancing my capacity to meet their unique needs. My approach is centred on fostering empowerment, healing, and resilience.

Criminal Justice, National Security, and  Government Employees

With professional experience in law enforcement, state and federal public sector roles, and teaching in related fields, I bring a unique understanding of the pressures and moral complexities faced by individuals in these professions. I help clients manage stress, burnout, and work-life balance, offering practical tools to foster mental clarity and resilience.

Minority Stress & Intersectionality

I work with individuals experiencing minority stress and navigating intersectional identities, including but not limited to racial and cultural minorities, LGBTIQASB+ individuals, people living with HIV, sex workers, former prisoners, migrants, university students, and people with disabilities. By recognising the compounded effects of stigma, discrimination, and systemic barriers, I aim to empower clients to build resilience, navigate challenges, and foster self-acceptance.
