About Me
I'm an Australian registered psychologist, based in Melbourne, Australia.
Before becoming a psychologist, I lived and worked in the UK and Turkey and served as a criminologist at both state and federal levels of government and law enforcement in Australia. My journey into criminology began after witnessing the profound impact of the 7 July London bombings in 2005, an experience that deeply influenced my career path.
Although I enjoyed my work as a criminologist, burnout led me to take a step back and re-evaluate my career. I ultimately decided to pursue psychology, a field that aligns with my passion for supporting others.
For over 10 years, I taught within academia in the fields of criminology and psychology and have also served as the National Diversity Manager for a leading men’s peer-support organisation in the not-for-profit sector, evaluating their inclusion and diversity practices.
As a psychologist, I have experience across diverse settings:
-
In forensic environments, delivering individual and group therapy to offenders.
-
At Headspace, supporting young people through brief interventions.
-
Within community mental health, providing counselling through government-funded programs like STEPS and Head2Health.
-
In private practice, focusing on individualised assessment and treatment.
I see myself as part of your broader support team, collaborating to build resilience and self-reliance. My ultimate goal is to empower you to manage your mental health proactively, seeking support as needed—much like you would visit a doctor or barber—rather than waiting for a crisis.
